A sports club has proposed the construction of a brand-new, all-weather football pitch for one County Kildare region.

Allenwood Celtic AFC is seeking planning permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) to construct the pitch on its grounds at Killinagh Upper in Carbury.

Specifically, the club is seeking permission to make the following changes:

  • The construction of a new all-weather football pitch, including 1.2 metre high fencing to the perimeter
  • The erection of six 15m high floodlights in order to illuminate the new all-weather pitch and an existing grass pitch
  • The construction of new single storey clubhouse building, which would comprise of changing rooms, meeting room, toilets and ancillary services
  • The implementation of a wastewater treatment system
  • The provision of upgrade works to the existing vehicular entrance
  • The construction of a car parking and bicycle shelter

In addition, planning permission is being sought for all associated site works.

The date received on the application is listed as March 4 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as April 7, 2026 and April 28, 2026 respectively.
