A set of internal works has been proposed for a well-known County Kildare church.

According to a planning permission application currently with Kildare County Council (KCC), the works will be carried out to the Presbyterian Church located on the North Main Street of Naas.

Specifically, the application shows that Minister Mark Proctor is seeking permission for works relating to:

  • The reordering of internal furniture layout involving removal of existing timber pews and replacement with loose chairs
  • The removal of existing raised pulpit area and enclosure
  • The replacement of the missing timber floorboarding following its removal
  • The salvaging of surrounding panels to form bench storage area and wall paneling
  • The construction of a fixed screened area for audio equipment area to the rear

It also notes that the church is a protected structure (NS19-006).

The date received is listed as March 9 last, while the submission-by and due dates are listed as April 12, 2026 and May 3, 2026 respectively.
