A hands-on digital and AI skills hub has been launched in Naas via a collaboration between Turnua, an IT enterprise and Future Academy, which provides artificial intelligence solutions to business challenges.
Based at Turnua’s facility in the Monread Industrial Park, the initiative is designed to give students, professionals and enterprise teams practical experience with AI, digital systems and modern infrastructure in a real-world environment, rather than a traditional classroom setting.
Those behind the project say Naas was a natural choice for the Turnua Future Academy, as Turnua had already established its hub there and Naas offers strong connectivity to Dublin and the wider national motorway network, making it highly accessible for students, SMEs and enterprise teams.
Turnua says that beyond its strategic location, County Kildare benefits from a strong and growing enterprise ecosystem, supported by the county council, Enterprise Ireland and the County Kildare Chamber.
Because AI adoption and digital capability are national priorities, initiatives like this ensure regional centres like Naas are not left behind but are actively shaping the future. By delivering AI and digital innovation programmes within a live critical infrastructure hub, Turnus says it is creating a visible, practical centre of excellence in Naas.

They also say Kildare’s profile as a region where infrastructure, digital capability, enterprise and community work together in a meaningful way is being strengthened.
“As more businesses and students engage with AI and modern digital tools through hands-on programmes, it reinforces the county’s reputation as a place where technology is actively built, implemented and shared for the benefit of the wider community.”
Turnua employs a growing multidisciplinary team spanning infrastructure, engineering, operations and digital capability, with the Academy representing a strategic investment in innovation, skills development and regional growth.
Its commercial director Rob Campbell is from Naas and many of the team are based locally.
