Kildare garda issues important advice following theft incidents. File photograph
A member of An Garda Síochána (AGS) who is based in County Kildare has issued an important warning following two vehicle thefts from vehicle which were parked in a housing estate.
Garda Ann-Marie Reilly gave the advice to listeners of KFM when during a recent guest appearance on one of the station's programmes.

Explaining the nature of the thefts, she said that they both took place in the early hours of Thursday, March 5 last in the Aylmer Park housing estate.
Gda Reilly further said that the two vehicles were a car and a van, and added that a set of car keys and a sum of cash was taken from the two vehicles.

She also issued the following crime prevention advice to the general public: "Please do not leave valuable items or cash in your car, and ensure that your car is locked and secure when you're parking up for the night."
Gda Reilly concluded by urging anyone with information on these thefts to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884 300.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the this specific crime, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí are investigating a theft from a MPV [Mechanically Propelled Vehicle] outside a residential premise in Naas, County Kildare in the early hours of Thursday, March 5 last."
The spokesperson added that investigations are currently ongoing.
