St Patrick's Day Parade in Newbridge

St Patrick’s Day parades are taking place across County Kildare tomorrow with towns and villages preparing colourful floats, community celebrations and family events as thousands are expected to turn out.

Newbridge


The Newbridge parade theme this year is Volunteers and Business, the Heart of a Community. The parade begins at 11.45am and will celebrate the many people and organisations that help the town thrive.

Naas


No parade but Naas will host an Irish-language celebration organised by Cill Dara le Gaeilge. The programme will conclude with Féile Sráide Lá Fhéile Pádraig Nás na Ríogh, the annual Irish-language St Patrick’s Day street festival, taking place on Main Street from 2pm to 5pm.
The event is supported by Kildare County Council through the Creative Ireland / Éire Ildánach programme
There will be free face painting for children available at The Forge Inn on South Main Street.


Clane

Clane will celebrate the 21st anniversary of its St Patrick’s Day parade this year with the theme 40 Shades of Green.

The parade begins at 3pm following pre-parade entertainment from 2pm, with Ted Murray of the Clane Project Centre serving as grand marshal.


Kilcock


Kilcock’s parade takes place under the theme On The Screen – From Soaps to Superheroes.
The parade begins at 1.30pm from St Joseph’s graveyard, travelling through Church Street and Main Street before finishing at The Square.

Celbridge


Celbridge’s St Patrick’s Day parade will follow the theme Gulliver’s Travels, promising a colourful and imaginative display. The parade begins at 4pm after entries assemble on Church Road, with the Ohio State University Band travelling from the United States to take part.

Athy


The theme for Athy’s parade this year is Community Spirit, highlighting the people who contribute to the town’s strong sense of community.
The parade begins at 3pm, with Frank Taaffe named as grand marshal in recognition of his longstanding contribution to the town.

Monasterevin

Monasterevin’s parade will focus on Recycling & Sustainability this year, encouraging participants to use eco-friendly materials in their floats.
The parade begins at 2pm on Main Street with schools, clubs and community groups taking part.

Castledermot

Castledermot Vintage Club will once again host its St Patrick’s Day parade and road run. Registration begins at 12pm with the parade starting at 2pm on Hamilton Road, along with free face-painting and refreshments beforehand.

Maynooth

Maynooth’s St Patrick’s Day parade will mark a special occasion this year as the town celebrates its 850th anniversary. The theme Medieval Maynooth will see the town step back in time, with the parade route and start time is 11am.

Leixlip


The Leixlip Parade will start at 1:30pm and proceed from Green Lane via Main Street and finish at Mill Lane Fire Station.
