There is public opposition to providing recreational facilities for teenagers.

This is according to Kildare County Council, which was responding to a call from Cllr Paul Brooks for a “detailed plan” on how it intends to provide facilities for teens in Leixlip and Celbridge over the next couple of years.

KCC official Simon Wallace replied that a seating area is due to be provided on The Slip in Celbridge and it is hoped to have this completed by the end of March.

He added in Leixlip teen facilities are proposed as part of the masterplan for the Wonderful Barn.
