Overcrowding worsens at Kildare's main hospital today

Only one hospital in the region has more patients on trolleys

Naas hospital urges patients to get medical care elsewhere due to overcrowding

Naas General Hospital

Some 27 people were treated on trolleys at Naas Hospital today, making it the second worst overcrowded hospital in the east.

Only St Vincent's Hospital (29) had more patients treated on trolleys, having been admitted through the accident and emergency department.

Elsewhere there were eight patients on trolleys at Portlaoise Hospital and none at Tullamore Hospital.
