Plans have been lodged for a new €967,000 pastoral centre at St Coca’s Parish Church in Kilcock, Co. Kildare.

The proposed development will see the construction of a single-storey limestone building measuring 315 square metres to the south of the existing church on Church Street.

The project also includes the removal of an existing 20th century grotto, partial demolition of a boundary wall, and associated site works across a 0.388-hectare site.

The application was submitted on February 23, 2026, by St Coca’s Catholic Church, with parish representative George Augustine listed as the applicant.

Designs for the new centre have been prepared by David Slattery Conservation Architects Ltd, with landscape planning by JM McConville & Associates.

A number of consultancies are also involved in the project, including RPS Group, Donnachadh O’Brien & Associates, Rubicon Archaeology Ltd, and Uisce Éireann.

The development is classified as a community and church project and will be privately funded.

If approved, the pastoral centre is expected to support parish activities and provide additional space for community use alongside the existing church.
