Sallins
Kildare County Council has been asked to facilitate affordable housing in Sallins.
Cllr Carmel Kelly said the Peter McVerry site, adjacent to the main road and close to Castlesize should be used.
Cllr Kelly told a Naas Municipal District meeting that Sallins has grown into a small town and site is centrally located.
“There is a cohort of young people aged around 30 who have grown up in Sallins and want to live as close to family as possible,” said Cllr Kelly.
KCC owns the site and said it is exploring all options for development there “including the viability of affordable housing.”
