A garda has described a frightening County Kildare incident in which male opened a woman's car door and proceeded to steal her bag from the passenger seat.
The shocking incident was outlined by Garda Marc Connolly during a recent guest appearance on KFM.

He said that the crime took place in the Hillcrest region of Kilcullen during the afternoon of Friday, March 20 last.
Gda Connolly explained that a woman had left a shop and went into her car, when a male suddenly opened the passenger door and proceeded to steal her black-coloured handbag, which had cash in it.
He described the perpetrator as a being young and tall male who was wearing a red hood.
ESCAPE VEHICLE
Gda Connolly also said that the male quickly fled into a nearby white van with a sliding door on the side, and it is believed that this van sped off in the direction of Naas.
He concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this crime and / or video footage which may have captured it to contact Kilcullen Garda Station on 045 481 212.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí are investigating a theft from a MPV [Mechanically Propelled Vehicle] in Kilcullen, County Kildare, shortly after 2.45pm on Friday, March 20 last."
The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.
