Naas Roads Policing Unit carried out a targeted speed enforcement operation on the L2028 at Greatconnell, Kildare recently following residents' concerns over speeding vehicles in the area.
Local residents reported increasing difficulty safely exiting their homes and estates due to drivers exceeding the 50km/h limit on this residential road—an area with constant pedestrian movement, families, and daily local activity.
Gardaí carried out checks and detected a number of vehicles travelling above the limit.
All offending motorists were issued Fixed Charge Penalty Notices – €160 fine and three penalty points.
A garda spokesperson warned: “Let this be clear: this is a 50km/h residential zone. Speeding here puts lives at risk.
“Slow down. Pay attention. Respect the community you’re driving through.”
