A number of personal items were reported stolen from a County Kildare residence following a burglary.

The crime, which occurred in the Caragh Heights region of Caragh, was highlighted by Garda Lenny Donnellan during a recent guest appearance on KFM.

He explained that it took place sometime between Saturday, April 4 last and Sunday, April 5 last.

According to Gda Donnellan, a 'lot of damage' was caused to the home by the perpetrator(s).

In addition, a number of items were stolen, including jewellery, sunglasses, handbags and a wallet.

He concluded by urging anyone with information relating to this incident to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 481 212.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this crime, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí attended the scene of a burglary in a residential property in Naas, County Kildare.

"The incident occurred between April 4 and April 5 last.

"A number of items were reported taken."

The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.
