Green light given for two new apartments in this Kildare town

Planning permission has been granted for a €236k, two-apartment development in Athy, Co Kildare.

According to Construction Information Services (CIS), a decision to grant planning permission was issued by Kildare County Council on January 26 2026, with respect to a site addressed at 12 and 13 Holland's Park, Rheban Manor, Athy R14 CF78, Co Kildare.

The plans were first submitted for consideration on May 29 2025, and comprise the following:

• 2 x 2 bedroom ground floor apartments;

• subdivision of the rear garden to provide private open space for each apartment;

• dishing of the existing verge / footpath to allow vehicular access for the provision of four new off-street car park spaces to include provision for the two existing first floor apartments;

• provision for an enclosed bin store to the front and modifications to the front facade with all ancillary site works (to include change of use from permission previously granted for a creche but never completed)

The architect assigned to the project is Patrick J Knowles Architectural & Planning Consultant.
