Kildare Commuters use 'Unsustainable' transport

According to a report carried out by Maynooth University Kildare residents predominately use unsustainable modes of transport (66% used private transport in 2011), with this trend increasing (up from 64% in 2006) The use of Green Modes (walk/cycle) throughout the county is very low, with only 16% walking or cycling to work, school or college, well below the regional (22%) and national (17%) averages, according to statistics obtained for the Kildare Economic and Community Plan (2016-2021).
