Education of Children in Hazel Hotel

A meeting is taking place today between the Dept. of Education, school principals in Monasterevin, and other State agencies.

The provision of education for the children staying at the Hazel Hotel will be discussed.  The hotel is now to a reception and orientation centre for 520 Syrian refugees, on a staggered basis. It is is expected that the refugees will be residing at the hotel between now and the end of 2016.No decision has yet been taken as to whether the  children will attend school locally or will receive tuition on site in the centre, because of the relatively short period some of the children may be in the centre.
