Property prices in Co Kildare rocketed by 53 per cent in the first half of 2015 - and they show no signs of slowing down. Data by the Residential Property Price Register (RPPR) shows the Lilywhite county is well ahead of the national average of 10 per cent. The most expensive property in Co Kildare this year was a Georgian mansion in Kilcock which fetched a staggering €10m. The Courtown Demesne country estate (pictured) on 400 acres originally went on the market at the height of the Celtic Tiger boom with an asking price of €120 million, equivalent to almost €300,000 per acre. Late last year, the former luxury home of Tony O’Reilly at Castlemartin House in Kilcullen, Co Kildare fetched a massive €26.5m. The 750-acre estate was bought by John Malone, a US billionaire behind the UPC-owned Liberty Global.
