Local crime summit to discuss drugs

The rise of drugs and anti-social behaviour will be discussed at a meeting on crime in Johnstownbridge tonight. The gathering has been organised by Fianna Fail's Cllr  James Lawless and will be attended by senior gardai. In 2013, gardai seized drugs and arrested two men after they found a sophisticated 'mixing factory' in the Johnstown area. Dtectives from the Garda National Drug Unit made the discovery when they searched a house in the village. Cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value of up to €2m was also seized.
