Traffic: Road works to add to Newbridge traffic woes
8 Sept 2015
Traffic though Newbridge town is set to get worse for the next month as Council road works begin on the main Street. The traffic calming measures will take place from today until October 8. Cars and other vehicles will be blocked from entering or exiting Main Street from Thomas Street and Francis Street. A Council spokesperson said: "The works are being carried out in the interest of pedestrian safety." A layout drawing of the proposed works may be inspected at the offices of Kildare County Council. The Council is also installing traffic calming measures including ramps and footpaths on the Fair Green Road in Kildare Town. Once the works are completed, vehicles will be allowed to travel west only from the entrance to the Railway Station Car Park to the junction with Dunmurry Road.
