Kildare Volunteer Centre accepting applications for refugee supporters

The Kildare Volunteer Centre is now accepting applications for those who want to give of their time to support refugees being accommodated at the Hazel Hotel in Monasterevin. 520 people fleeing conflict in Syria will be accommodated there, in groups of around 70 people at a time, between now and the end of 2016. KVC is also acting as a conduit through which goods, donated from across Ireland, are being transferred to people in the Hazel Hotel. Mick Power runs KVC. He says the response from members of the public has been "positive" and he hopes to have volunteers at the hotel within a month
