Newbridge-based Army man gets top Defence Forces role

A Co Kildare-based Army officer has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces. Colonel Kevin Cotter currently works as the Director of Strategic Planning in Defence Forces Headquarters based in Newbridge. Colonel Cotter is a graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology and the Command and Staff Course, Military College. The married dad-of-one has worked in Brussels and served on tours of duty in Lebanon, Bosnia, Kosovo and Liberia. Defence Minister Simon Coveney said “I wish Col Cotter every continued success and I know he will make a significant contribution to the Defence Forces in his new role as Deputy Chief of Staff (Support). "I look forward to working closely with him in the future”.
