Morning weather update: A mixed bag with spells of sun and rain

Today will bring more of the same type of weather we experienced yesterday. There will be patches of sunshine breaking through the cloud cover at times, but this will also be disrupted by scattered showers of heavy rain. Most of the rain should fall in the first part of the afternoon, with the evening set to be the driest part of the day. Temperatures will remain mild, but a cool northwesterly wind will make it feel much colder than the 14-16 degrees heat that is due to come along at midday. It is the east of the country that will face the worst of the weather today, and for those of you heading to Croke Park to cheer on the Kildare ladies camogie team, you are advised to bring an umbrella as Dublin is set for plenty of rain today too.
