Traffic in Co Kildare is very busy

Congestion is escalating in Co Kildare with traffic moving very slowly. There is extremely heavy traffic at Sallins, Clane, Maynooth, Celbridge, Kilcullen, Kilcock and Naas. There are no incidents to report. Traffic is heavy on the M50 southbound from J4 Ballymun to J9 Red Cow and is bumper to bumper.Northbound is slow at J16 Cherrywood. Heavy inbound on the N4/ Lucan Rd from the M50 Interchange to Palmerstown Bypass. Further along, there are delays turning right for Kilmainham on Con Colbert Rd and it's busy then on St. John's Rd West up to Heuston Station. Co Kildare is now very busy especially at Sallins, Naas, Newbridge, the Curragh Roundabout and Celbridge to Lucan. Roads leading to Naas are very busy especially close to the Business Park. Naas traffic is now very congested especially close to the Monread Roundabout and Piper's Hill. Traffic in Newbridge  on the route to Naas is backed up. There are delays on the from Celbridge to Lucan. On the M4 cars have broken down leading to delays. The N4 is busy, M50 is busy. Roadworks are continuing in Kilcullen. The  L-6076 from Milemill cross roads to Nicholastown will be temporarily closed today from 9:30am – 5pm  to facilitate road resurfacing work. There are eastbound delays along the Grand Canal this morning from Parnell Rd towards the Ranelagh Rd Junction. Traffic is heavy on the  M50 southbound from J7 Lucan to J11 Tallaght. Northbound traffic is moving well. It's slow on the Navan Rd from before the railway bridge to the Ashtown R/A. Maynooth is extremely busy and traffic is bumper to bumper. Naas is starting to get very busy. Traffic is escalating at Kilcullen and the Curragh Roundabout. The M50 is still running smoothly. All trains and buses are running according to plan from Co Kildare. The M50 is running smoothly at the moment, however, from 10pm tonight until tomorrow morning expect a significant amount of roadworks. There will be lane restrictions in place for works on the M50 northbound from J5 Finglas to the M1/ M50 Interchange from 10pm tonight until 6am tomorrow morning. There will be lane restrictions in place for works on the M50 southbound from the M1/ M50 Interchange to J5 Finglas from 10pm Mon 14th until 6am Tues 15th Sept. There will be lane restrictions in place for works on the  M50  southbound between J6 Blanchardstown and J7 Lucan from today until 6am tomorrow. There will be lane restrictions in place for works on the   northbound between J9 Red Cow and J7 Lucan from 10pm today until 6am tomorrow. The freeflow slips from the N4 Lucan Rd inbound and outbound to the M50 southbound at J7 Lucan will be closed for works from 10pm Mon 14th until 6am tomorrow and diversions will be in place. The freeflow slip on the M1/ M50 Interchange to the M50 southbound will be closed for works from 10pm today  until 6am tomorrow morning. Diversions will be in place via J2 Coolock. Roads are wet, so exercise caution.
