No available resources as yet for safe walkway to Kilcullen school children
18 Sept 2015
A motion for plans to encompass a safe walkway from Cnoc na Gréine to Scoil Bhríd school via Kilcullen Community Centre Complex was turned down by Kildare County Council earlier this week. Cllr Rob Power raised the issue at Naas Municipal District meeting but was disappointed to learn there was 'no available resources' to undertake said works at the moment. There are in excess of 600 pupils attending Scoil Bhríd with approximately one third of them coming from the Cnoc na Gréine direction. “In response to my request to have rough costings put together for development of a walkway between Cnoc na Gréine and the Community Centre, KCC have informed me that with so many projects going on in the district currently, it does not have the available resources to commit to a plan” said Cllr Power. “However, having met with the Area Engineer and previously visited the site with him, I'm confident that some basic estimate of works will be available to discuss during the 2016 budget plans".
