There's room for 26,000 more homes in Co Kildare - Govt

There is enough land potentially available  in Co Kildare for the construction of 26,195 dwellings, a Government report found. The figures come from a Department of Environment assessment, carried in in mid-2014, which asked all local authorities to identify residential lands in two a stage project. The study investigated all residentially-zoned undeveloped lands, which, in Kildare, amounts to just under 1,100 hectares. Another dossier broke down lands into the amount that could be developed under the phasing schedule of the relevant local area plans.
