Property rates could be set by Council today

The Local Property Tax rate Co Co Kildare for 2016 may be set at today's Council meeting. Kildare Co Council is one of several local authorities allowed by the Government to change the rate of the tax by up to 15%. During 2015, the rate was cut by 7.5%. The remaining 7.5% was ring fenced to each of the five Municipal Districts to enable them to fund various projects. The Council has already carried out a public consultation process on the LPT rate for 2016 and will be discussing the issue at Aras Chill Dara.
