Naas hospital release 19 year old man, taken from the Barrow

A 19-year-old man rescued from the River Barrow in Athy yesterday evening has been released from hospital. It is understood that the alarm was raised just before 9pm when the local man got into difficulties and Kildare Fire Service attended the scene. It's believed the Garda Helicopter was requested but was unable to reach the area due to adverse weather conditions. The person , who was a local man was later removed from the water near the Tegral plant at around 10pm and taken to Naas General Hospital. Gardai said he has now been released from hospital. Officers said there were no suspicious circumstances.
