Bales of hay at the busy Bundle of Sticks Roundabout near Naas have caught fire again and thick smoke is billowing from the site. Kildare Fire Service have responded to the blaze a number of times since Monday afternoon and have worked hard make the scene safe. Passing motorists said that the thick smoke is reducing visibility at times for traffic on the Roundabout. Kildare Fire Service said the fire will eventually burn itself out over time and that it has committed considerable resources to the scene over the past 48 hours. A spokesman said: "The nature of a hay fire like this is that it will smoulder and smoulder for a number of days. "Considerable resources have already been deployed to the blaze from Naas and Newbridge Fire Stations." Gardai are still investigating the original cause of the blaze which broke out on Monday afternoon.
