TD Murphy defends poll showing of her new party

Kildare North TD Catherine Murphy says she's not concerned by a new poll showing her Social Democrats party on just 1 per cent. Murphy says it's early days for her party - but she's confident that support will rise as more candidates sign up. The party already has ten candidate fighting for seats in the forthcoming general election. Deputy Murphy said: "We're about nine or ten weeks old, it takes time for people to make the connection - I think that's all the more reason why we just plough ahead and keep introducing candidates, organising events and develop policy positions" she said. "We're seeing very quickly the ground machines getting up and running if there wasn't an attractiveness to what we're offering."
