Co Kildare fire services recruiting for first time in four years

The first recruitment drive at Co Kildare Fire Services in over four years is taking place this week. Speaking to KildareNow, Assistant Chief Fire -Officer, Niall O'Riordan, disclosed that the county has a shortage of fire fighters. Mr O'Riordan said: "This is the first recruitment drive in four years, before that we would recruit on a more regular basis.'' Mr O'Riordan revealed that there is an immediate vacancy for a fire-officer in Monasterevin, while there will be other openings after Christmas. Currently there are approximately 60 fire officers based in Co Kildare.
