Urgent need for another homeless hostel in Co Kildare says Peter McVerry Trust

Another homeless shelter is urgently needed in Co Kildare warns a Peter McVerry spokesperson. Homeless shelter provider, Peter McVerry Trust, has revealed that a recently opened hostel in Newbridge town is now 'operating at full capacity.' Francis Doherty, a Peter McVerry spokesperson said: "There is a need for another homeless hostel in Co Kildare. A lot of homeless people from the county are coming into Dublin to access services.'' Meanwhile, Kildare County Council is now operating a helpline for homeless people, in conjunction with the Peter McVerry Trust. The helpline, launched earlier this month, operates between 5p.m. to 9p.m. weekdays and midday to 5p.m. over the weekends. The number is 1800 804 307.
