State Pathologist on way to Celbridge to investigate overnight death in quiet family estate

The State Pathologist is now on the way to Celbridge investigating the death of a man in his thirties at Willowbrook Park last night. A man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene, after the deceased was discovered with head injuries, and pronounced dead just before 10.30pm. Locals say that the victim is originally from Lucan but had been residing at Willowbrook Park for some time. Shock is being expressed locally at the first killing in 'living memory.' Independent Cllr Bernard Caldwell said : "This is a first off in Celbridge. It is uncharacteristic of the area, I don't ever recall a killing in Celbridge." Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the Willowbrook Park area of Celbridge to contact them at Leixlip Garda Station on 01-666 7800.
