NAMA Headquarters have refused to support revelations by a Co Kildare TD regarding an 'unprecedented' interest in purchasing the derelict Naas shopping centre. A Co Kildare TD reveals that there is now an 'unprecedented' interest in purchasing the derelict Naas shopping centre from NAMA. Major overseas developers have shown a 'genuine' interest in developing business at the semi constructed shopping centre. FG Deputy Anthony Lawlor is urging NAMA, who own the 43 unit mall, is appealing with NAMA to urgently enter into negotiations with developers. "There has definitely been a lot more interest in the last month. Over the last few weeks four major developers have shown an interest in purchasing at the shopping centre. This level of interest in unprecedented. If NAMA sold the site to developers, it would lift the confidence of the retail sector in Naas." Meanwhile, NAMA spokesperson David Clerkin, refused to disclose any information on NAMA's plans for Naas shopping centre.
