Shock is being expressed in Celbridge at the first killing there in living memory. Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s following the death of a man at a house in Celbridge last night. Emergency services were called to Willowbrook Park, Celbridge at 8.50pm , last night, following the discovery of a man in his 30s with head injuries. The man was pronounced dead shortly before 10.30pm and the body remains at the scene. A man in his 20s was arrested at the house. He is detained at Leixlip Garda station under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The scene is preserved pending the arrival of the Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis and the Garda Technical Bureau. Local Labour Cllr Kevin Byrne said: "I never heard of a killing in Celbridge in my lifetime.''
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the Willowbrook Park area of Celbridge to contact them at Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
