Safety Signage at Co Kildare primary school due soon
2 Oct 2015
Signage is urgently needed at a Co Kildare primary school with a 'serious' traffic problem. Principal of Scoil Bhride Milltown, Joe Hartnett, welcomed the long- awaited announcement that traffic calming measures will take place soon. A traffic warden started employment last month, in a bid to reduce the safety risks, with children crossing the road from the school. It is anticipated that two new signs with School Patrol Ahead written on them, will be placed on the approach to the crossing from either side of the school.
Newbridge based councillor, Fiona O’Loughlin and school principal, Mr Joe Hartnett discussed their concerns with KCC Area Engineer, earlier this week, in relation to the increase in heavy goods vehicles, lorries and agricultural vehicles passing through the village.
