Farm accident victim named as Adam Mangan, Offaly minor GAA player and sportsman

The 19 year old victim of a farm accident near Rhode, Co Offaly has been named as Adam Mangan, a former minor player for his native county. Mr Mangan was pronounced dead at the scene before being taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore. He was described as a talented GAA player, a former member of the 2013 and 2014 Offaly minor football panels.  It is understood he also played with Tullamore Rugby Club and made appearances with the Leinster side. Kilclonfert GAA wrote the following tribute on the club Facebook page: "The darkest of clouds is cast over Kilclonfert this evening as news of the terribly tragic and untimely death of one of our fine young players, Adam Mangan has occurred. Words just don’t describe the sadness that is in our club and community tonite. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ray, Janette, Shane, Mark & Cathal and all their extended family and friends". Mr Mangan's accidental death is the 13th fatality recorded on Irish farms this year.
