Many local authorities across the country have adopted the so-called Jake's Law which sets speed limits of 20km in all residential areas. The campaign is named after schoolboy Jake Brennan (6) died after the freak road collision in Lintown Grove in Kilkenny in June 2014. In the wake of his death, his mum Roseann and her family called on the Government to adopt the lower speed limits across the country. Athy-based Cllr Mark Wall has now called on Kildare County Council for an update on the provision of speed ramps in estates across the county.
