Rail bridge in Sallins will be closed for week

A railway bridge in Sallins will be closed for a week later this month. Kerdiffstown Railway Bridge will be shut from Wednesday, October 21 to Tuesday, October 27 to upgrade the over-bridge on the Dublin/Cork rail line north of Sallins Train Station. Designated diversions for road users will be clearly signposted as agreed with Kildare County Council and gardai. Local and emergency access will be allowed at all times. Kildare County Council apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused. Meanwhile the Council is planning traffic calming measures on Great Connell Road in  Newbridge, Co Kildare and drawings can be viewed at the local authority's offices.   It emerged yesterday that the Canal Road from Digby Bridge to Osberstown will be temporarily closed from 9.30am until 4.30pm tomorrow until Friday this week to replace a safety barrier.
