Kildare sports clubs were awarded over €1.6 million this week. Here's how much your club received

Kildare sports clubs received confirmation on their Capital Sports Grants on Thursday afternoon and there were certain clubs that received some whopping financial rewards. In total, there was €1,666,217 dished out to clubs around the county and a total of 28 different organisations across a range of different sports received grants. Cappagh GAA club were awarded a grant of €133,970 and the money will go towards such upgrades in the club like a new clubhouse and a new pitch. There was previously only one adults pitch in the club and a two dressing room clubhouse, so the upgrades will be welcomed by all involved in the club. Athy Lawn Tennis Club were the recipients of a €150,000 grant, and the money will be spread out through a number of different upgrades that are needed. The six all weather tennis courts at the club have not been resurfaced for over 14 years, and they will be resurfaced thanks to the grant money.
The floodlight system at the club is also in need of replacing, and that too will be upgraded.
