Council wants ideas on uses for revamped Newbridge Town Hall

The refurbished Newbridge Town Hall is due to be re-opened at the end of November, the Council said. The former Church of Ireland building has been re-roofed and the interior is now being restored to its original state. Local councillors recently visited the site and praised the quality of the work which is costing hundreds of thousands of euro. A new group will be set up to decide how the building will be used through a process of public consultation. Anybody who wants to make a submission can email newbridgetownhall@kildarecoco.ie. A Council spokeswoman said: "This is an important step in reclaiming the town centre of Newbridge as a destination in itself and should lead to the upgrade of Georges Street and surrounding areas."
