Emergency accommodation for Carrickmines survivors blocked by local residents

Emergency accommodation for the survivors of the Carrickmines fire has been blocked by local residents. Members of the South Dublin community have used cars and heavy machinery to cut off access to a site at Glenamuck Cottages close to the site of Saturday's fatal fire. The Southside Traveller Action Group claims permission had been given by the local County Council for a family of 15 to move onto a temporary halting site on Thursday. Five adults and five children, all under 10, perished in a fire over the weekend.
