Truck driver fined for driving on Co Kildare roads without rest breaks

A trucker was fined after he was convicted of not using his tachograph which records his driving hours. Hungarian national Tibor Revesz (42) of Clongriffin, Dublin 13 was stopped driving an articulated truck by Kildare gardai in September. A tachograph device records the number of hours a driver is legally allowed to drive. Judge Desmond Zaidan told Naas District Court today that driving without rest periods causes driver fatigue which is a contributing factor in many road collisions.
