Leixlip chef Stephen Grimes scooped a silver medal in the 2015 Chef of the Year competition at Sodexo Salon Culinaire. The annual culinary competition is run by services company Sodexo Ireland for its 2,000 staff working in 200 site locations throughout Ireland. The contest is open to chef and non-chef employees and TV chef Derry Clarke was one of the judges. Stephen, whio is based at SAP in CityWest where he is head chef, said: “I was very happy with my silver medal win as it’s my first time to enter this competition. "It was tough but very rewarding and I loved the buzz! My recipes were inspired by a visit to Maynooth Organics and it really opened my eyes to the fantastic range of fresh ingredients that are in season right now. "I tried to incorporate as much as I could into my dishes. “
