10 ambulances and 3 fire units called after a car collided with the Luas late last night

10 ambulances and three units of the Dublin City Fire Service were called to the Luas line in Inchicore late last night when a car collided with the tram. A dozen people were injured and taken to hospital following the collision but it is believed that their injuries are not serious. They were taken to St James' hospital and Tallaght hospital. Dublin City Fire Service confirmed that they initially sent five ambulances along with three fire engines to the scene, before a further five ambulances were drafted in to help the injured. The accident happened at about 10.20pm last night and shut that part of the Luas line down for almost an hour. https://twitter.com/Luas/status/657682049751494657 Services resumed shortly after 11pm. An investigation is being launched into the collision.
