Capes on Halloween costumes could be fire hazards - Kildare fire bosses

Kildare Fire Service has warned that flowing capes and drapes on Halloween costumes could be flammable and be easily ignited by candles. A spokesman said: "If you're buying a costume, buy from a reputable source and make sure it's CE marked at least. "Keep your costume away from sources of fire - this includes heaters, open fires, candles, lights, barbecues, sparklers, jack-o-lanterns, cigarettes etc." The experts also warned that costumes shouldn't impede your movement leading to trips or falls and possible injury.
