New Glanbia venture will create 25 construction jobs in Co Kildare
30 Oct 2015
The Glanbia plant in Ballitore is to start making its own milk bottles in a multi-million euro investment. The fresh milk packaging facility will be able to manufacture its own high density polyethylene plastic milk bottles for the first time. This latest development will bring total investment at Ballitore over the past five years to €27m. The new facility will be run as part of a long-term partnership agreement between Glanbia Consumer Foods Ireland (CFI) and Nampak Plastics, a global milk packaging company. The new moulding plant facility will remove 40 truck deliveries per week from the Co Kildare site and reduce carbon footprint at the plant by 250 tonnes per year. The construction phase will create 25 new jobs and is scheduled for completion by June 2016.
