Known criminal shot several times while out walking his dog in Dublin

A 54-year-old man was shot multiple times while he was out walking his dog in the Cabra area Dublin yesterday evening. He has been named as David Douglas, who received a five year jail sentence in 2008 for the possession of €500,000 worth of cocaine. The Dublin Fire Brigade stated that they sent an ambulance to the scene of an incident where a man had been shot several times. It is understood that all the gunshot wounds were received to the body. The incident happened at about 7.30pm yesterday evening and the man is said to be in a serious condition in hospital. A forensic tent to examine the scene was placed over the area at around 9.30pm by gardai last night and they are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward to Finglas garda station.
