Athy murder accused in court in Dublin tomorrow

A 43-year-old man charged with the murder of Jason Doogue in Athy in August is due to appear in court via video link tomorrow morning.

Mr Doogue (22) was sitting on a wall with friends in the Greenhills area of the town on August 21 when he was shot several times. He was rushed to Naas General Hospital where he later died.

In August, James Lammon from Cardington Way in Athy was remanded in custody after he was charged with the murder of Mr Doogue. 

Lammon (pictured above at a court sitting in Naas) will appear via video link in Cloverhill District Court in Dublin tomorrow morning where prosecuting gardai may be in a position to outline the Director of Public Prosecution's directions in the case. 

Gardai have so far carried out several arrests in connection with the investigation including two teenagers who were released from custody without charge.
