Chaos on M50 from Co Kildare

Co Kildare commuters to Dublin are being delayed by up to two hours this morning as a result of a crash at Lucan. The M50 is closed due to the crash and will not be opened for another hour. The M4 Sligo/ Dublin Rd eastbound is extremely busy from J6 Celbridge right through to the M50 Interchange. There is no access to the M50 southbound due to a crash which is adding to delays. The M50 southbound is closed at J7 Lucan until at least midday following a serious collision and there is no access to the M50 southbound from the N4 Lucan Rd. Traffic on the M50 southbound is being diverted off at J7 and onto the Lucan Rd. To access the M50 southbound motorists should take the Lucan Rd outbound to J2 Liffey Valley, exit onto the Fonthill Rd which is very busy and take the N7 Naas Rd inbound, then access the M50 at J9 Red Cow. Traffic is heavy on the M50 southbound from J5 Finglas to J7 Lucan. As a result of the collision on the M50, both Newcastle village and Lucan village are busier than usual. It's also very busy on the Outer Ring Rd from Lucan to the Nangor Rd jct. The  Naas Rd inbound is busy from J4 Rathcoole to the Red Cow Interchange. There is a an incident on the on ramp at J4 blocking the left lane and care is needed on approach. It's heavy inbound on the Navan Rdfrom the Auburn Ave jct to the Ashtown R/A and then it's busy through to Baggot Rd jct.
