Speaking at the official opening of the new store this morning, Managing Director for Ireland, Adrian Crean revealed just how much investment was undertaken in opening the store. "This restaurant has a total investment of over €4.5 million, employing 112 people and significantly contributing to the local community in which we are part of. To the whole team, our heartiest congratulations," he said. A variety of different people from all backgrounds have been employed in the store, and he believes that this will form a good working environment. "For many of those people it’s their first job, McDonald’s is their introduction as they start their working life. It’s their first job or maybe their job while they’re studying. It may be a job while they are minding their kids and their families or it’s a career." "What we are absolutely passionate about is that everybody that comes to work at McDonald’s will be able to learn great workplace skills and great life skills. This is a great team environment." Owner operator Sean Quirke mirrored the opinions of his colleague, stating that McDonald's is a place where careers can be built, citing the career of Business Manager Kamila Jansova. "We always say you’re in charge of your own career. Kamila came in quite a few years ago as a crew member and she worked her ass off and performed at the top level at everything and therefore she has taken great steps, and as a business manager I know we’re going to turn out an excellent store here," he said.
