Man stole ladies' knickers from Penneys in Newbridge

A man was before Naas District Court today on a charge of stealing a set of three pairs of ladies' underwear worth €7 from Penneys in Newbridge. The defendant was also charged with stealing a bottle of Ralph Lauren perfume from Debenhams in the Whitewater Shopping Centre nearby. The offences under the Theft Act took place in Newbridge in September last year. The court heard that all the goods were recovered and were undamaged in their original packaging. Judge Desmond Zaidan applied the Probation Act on the defendant which means no conviction will be recorded against him. But the judge warned that he won't be as lenient if the defendant appears in court before him again.
